Wifi that reaches the whole house
Why wifi behaves the way it does at home: which band to use, what the neighbours are doing to your evening, where the router should sit and which fix is worth buying.
Wifi fails in ways that feel personal: one bedroom where video calls drop, a kitchen that is fine until the microwave goes on, and a connection that gets noticeably worse every evening. The signal is radio, and radio cares about walls, water, distance and how many neighbours are sitting on the same channel as you. Almost every home problem comes down to one of those four, which is why the fixes are more about placement than about spending.
Take it in order. The difference between 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz explains the range against speed trade-off you are already living with. Where the router sits costs nothing to change and clears more dead zones than any purchase. If the trouble reliably arrives in the evening, look at interference from the channels around you. Only once those three are settled is it worth choosing between a mesh system, an extender and a cable.
The usual regret is a cheap extender bought first, which halves the speed it passes on and hides the real fault instead of fixing it.
